this is the most accurate description of how awful periods are that i have ever read. *slow applauds*
Also worthy of mention is poly-cystic ovary syndrome, which, put plainly, causes your period be be irregular due to imbalanced hormones. This means you can skip a period or two (or nine, in my case), but the other side of the coin is you can also bleed for two weeks straight (also my case). Then you can take birth control, which costs money obviously, to try and regulate your cycle. But of course you’re shoving more hormones into your body, so it’s like you can go through puberty again and again.
Course the pills don’t help with the cramping or the flow. So. There’s that.
